Errors on installing universal forwarder via apt package on ubuntu 12.04

When installing the universal forwarder apt package on an ubuntu 12.04 64bit server following error messages occur:

~$ sudo dpkg -i splunkforwarder-6.1.1-207789-linux-2.6-amd64.deb

Why do these errors occur and what can we do to fix them.
