Error 1073741795 installing Universal Forwarder

Hello all,

I am trying to install a splunk forwarder on a server 2003 x86 domain controller. I am installing with a domain admin, I have tried this on two different controllers. I keep getting the error below:

Description:

Blockquote Splunk Installer was unable to launch Splunk's Pre Fight Checks.

Error Code: - 1073741795

Any help appreciated.

A quick google and it sounds like you may have a 64 bit installer on a 32 bit machine.

Are there any errors in your windows event logs? S(ystem, application, or security event logs)

No definitely a 32 bit installer, unless the splunk download page is wrong.
