Does the setting for maxTotalDataSizeMB in indexes.conf apply to a specific indexer, a cluster, or entire Splunk infrastructure?

Is this value for the total size of the index apply to this specific server, within a cluster, or within my entire Splunk infrastructure? I would assume it is for the specific server, but wanted to confirm.
