Getting Data In

DB Connect: Why am I getting error "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" trying to add an Oracle database?

Hi
Im trying to use DB Connect
Now I'm adding new external databases

Database type is Oracle
and i chose Transaction Isolation Level DATABASE_SETTING
Host is localhost

i added oracle user 'test' and i put Database full path
(already added oracle user 'test' )

when i clicked SAVE
i got this error message

Encountered the following error while trying to save: In handler 'databases': Error connecting to database: java.sql.SQLException: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

i can't figure it out
Anybody have idea?

Not sure what you mean by "path to the database". DB Connect uses JDBC; JDBC will require a hostname (localhost in your case), a port number (generally 1521), and a service name or Oracle SID to identify the actual database. All of that information can be obtained from the Oracle lsnrctl command: "lsnrctl status" run as the oracle user on the *NIX database host (or as a Windows administrator on a Windows server). You may also need to verify that any local host firewall is configured to allow connections to the Oracle Listener.
