Can we install Botsv3 on splunk 10.0.0 in windows ?

Hi,

I want to install the BOTS v3 dataset on Splunk 10.0 in Windows OS. Is it compatible with this version? If yes, how can we install the prerequisite apps in one go? Also, since some apps are not available on Splunkbase, will the dataset run without those apps?

The dataset on its own contains indexed data. It doesn't matter on which system you install it.

I don't know of any automatic way to install or prerequisite apps unfortunately (I'd be happy to know it myself but I don't think you can batch-download multiple apps from Splunkbase).

The apps might be available as archived apps.

The dataset does not "run". The data is just data. The problem with the data if you don't have the apps will be that you won't have properly defined field extractions and the data will not fit datamodels.

As @PickleRick said, it’s just data. Still there could be issues as (if I remember right) it was from version 7.x? After that there have been some changes in splunk internals, but I suppose that it will still works? Or you find out quite soon if not. 
Then those used add ons are different story. You could find newer versions for quite many, but probably not for all. Without correctly “onboarded” data it will be harder to find those answers, but not impossible.

You have also option to run bots in bots.splunk.com for training purpose.
