Getting Data In

Can universal forwarder export data from SQL Server to a Splunk instance?

I have a MS SQL Server that manages some applications' log.
I want to transport the log to a Splunk instance.
Does the universal forwarder have the ability to do that via just installing it on the machine?
Or I have to create my own scripted input to access the SQL Server?
Help me please.

You'll have to create a scripted input using something like sqlcmd.exe and query your data directly.
