I'm a bit confused about what you're doing here. Are you monitoring local or remote? In case you're receiving data from remote hosts, just start sending to the same port from another host and off you go. Again, you're not saying very much about your setup so it's hard to give you good answers.

i have multiple servers and i need to retrieve data from them, i configured for single server with the following configuration

forwarder inputs.conf

[tcp://hostname:9997]
host = 01hw521
sourcetype = proxy_log
source = //hostname/var/log/squid/access.log
[monitor:///var/log/squid/access.log]
disabled = false
index = index1

i want to add additional server
