What are Answers and what are Discussions?

I honestly do not get this support portal, when do I post stuff under the Answers section and when under Discussions, I mean why is it even called Answers, it should be called Questions shouldn't it?  Not trying to be rude I honestly miss the old simple hierarchical Forum formats

Hello,
Well, this is a really good topic for discussion. Let's understand about answers and discussions.

So, answers and discussions are like talking with friends or sharing ideas in different ways.

First, we have to understand about Answer, An answer is kind of like giving a clear response to a question.  just like when you ask, "What's your favorite color?" and someone says, "Blue." It's a straightforward reply to a specific question.

Second, let's know about the discussion, it's more like having a chat. It's when people share thoughts, ask more questions, and talk about different things.

Let's Imagine being in a group, and everyone is chatting about their favorite colors, why they like them, and even suggesting new colors to try.

So, in very simple terms we can understand answers are like straight-to-the-point replies, and discussions are like friendly talks where people share and exchange lots of thoughts. Both are great ways to learn and connect with others

i hope this will help you.

That is an interesting topic of discussion!

There are (hopefully) more answers than (unanswered) questions, so, perhaps, it is more appropriate to call it answers rather than questions?

Also, I think the idea is that people come here (to the community) to find answers to their questions (using the search facility!).

Answers has a more positive connotation, imho 😁

thanks for your comment, I think that's just it, I rather drill down and search within a sub forum than in the entire Community, same goes for posting questions, this portal attempts to pigeon hole us when we try to ask a question and often times I am at a total loss as where to post my inquiries

I agree, the search facility leaves a lot to be desired - often, when a question comes up that I know I have previously answered, I struggle to find the post it was in.

As to where things should be posted, obviously, we should all attempt to post things in the right sections, but the moderators do have the ability to move articles around. For example, I am going to move this discussion to the feedback section 😁
