Why app is installed in Splunk Search head

Hi Splunk Ninjas,  I wanted to know why we installed app in Splunk SH, can you suggest few test case on this.

App that has dashboards, reports, alerts must install to SH, and some apps has search time extractions that is why that must be exists on SH. Please see below document for extra information;
