When Accessing Splunk Mobile Access Server URL, HTTP 403 error occurs stating that the website declined to show this webpage

I noticed that my error is similar to

https://answers.splunk.com/answers/145010/when-accessing-splunk-mobile-access-server-url-nothing-is-...

However with couple of differences.

First, after accepting the certificate, there is an http 403 error that states the website declined to show this webpage and the likey cause is that this website requires you to login. However, the login page does not even show in the first place

Second, the $SPLUNK_INSTALL_DIRECTORY/server/config/config_local.json file is empty. What steps can I do to resolve all this error?

[Solution] Apparently VMware was using port 443 and all I did was to change the port number and its being resolved

Splunk Mobile Access Server is deprecated and now a first party Splunk add-on called "Splunk Add-on for mobile access" is recommended for mobile access purpose, and it should be easier to install and configure since it is a Splunk app essentially. You may give it a try instead.
