What does error message index configuration paths collide mean?

error message:

06-14-2010 13:30:25.371 WARN ProcessDispatchedSearch - PROCESS_SEARCH what(): index configuration paths collide: /services/splunk_test/fibre_R10/pan-fw/colddb and /services/splunk_test/fibre_R10/pan-fw

This has caused the growth of data on my disk.

This means that in their index configuration, the user is using the same path or subset of a path for multiple indexes or index paths. As an example, a resolution would be to change /services/splunk_test/fibre_R10/pan-fw to /services/splunk_test/fibre_R10/pan-fw/db or something along this line so that there is a difference in the path.
