Unable to add database connection for external lookups

I am trying to add external database connection to be used in a lookup, however when I tried to add the database connection it gives me error below:

Encountered the following error while trying to update: In handler 'databases': Unexpected error "<class 'spp.java.bridge.JavaBridgeError'>" from python handler: "Command com.splunk.bridge.cmd.Reload returned status code 1". See splunkd.log for more details.

Can someone please help me, I am new to Splunk and never really touch the system setting
