SSL certificate generation failed.

on the following host :
FreeBSD localhost 7.2-RELEASE-p4 FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE-p4 i386

splunk universal forwarder is giving this error:

./splunk start

Splunk> The IT Search Engine.

Checking prerequisites...

    Checking mgmt port [8089]: open

Unexpected EOF from process runner child!

SSL certificate generation failed.

Any thoughts ?

This does seem to be fixed in 4.3.2, I installed and runs wihtout any issues.

Same issue with 4.2.5. with universal forwarder.
uname -a
Linux linux.com 2.4.21-53.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Nov 14 03:54:12 EST 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

It will just hang at checking mgmt port.

I am seeing 3 /opt/splunkforwarders/bin/splunkd generate-ssl processes running..
