hi am using splunk.it is installed in a laptop for learning purpose.i did some changes in configuration.after restarting splunk above message("ReadResponse() failed: The server did not return a response for this request. ") is show on my web browser.please help

hi the issue is resolved.actually i enabled ssl in splunk web.while enabling ssl the value in the web log become 1.change this value to 0,thus this issues is resolved.

What's the URL you're trying to load when that error occurs?

ya am using windows n i exectied what u said now i can view the status,now both the services are running

If using Windows you should start cmd.exe as Administrator first, then run the status command from there.

while executing splunk status a window asking for permission to run splunk. i had done some configuration change i think it is the reason for this message.how can i revert to default settings
