Deployment Architecture

Is it possible to edit the default prefix for apps created through Splunk Web?

On a deployment server Splunk Web UI, if I create a new app through Add Data -> Forward (let's say it's called "test"), it is deployed to the clients with the prefix _server_app_ ( _server_app_test in this case). Can I edit the default prefix or have it removed entirely (so the app would just be named "test")?

This is configured in Splunk's internal code and it's not recommended to update that. Besides if you choose to change it, it will get overwritten when you upgrade Splunk. FYR, the file is $Splunk_home/share/splunk/search_mrsparkle/exposed/js/routers/AddData.js.

Thank you very much for the reply and the location of the file! Good to know it's a part of the Splunk internal code. I suppose we could just edit the directory name under ../deployment-apps following creation (or create the new apps through CLI).
