How do I access the control panel on admin role on a Splunk search head cluster?

hi

if any one can help — i lost access to the control panel on admin role on a Splunk search head cluster. I checked authorize.conf, but I can't figure out what to change.

The error when i click on access control is as follows:

"An error occurred while rendering the page template. See web_service.log for more details"

hey thanks Frank you are right it was not permission issue. With control panel i mean web UI splunk 6.5.
Its resolved now -- did some late night checking 🙂
Resolution was : editing in authorize.conf admin rights was changed as i was adding a new user with other capabilities.
So all good
steps taken to resolve
1. Retraced the problem stage
2. role-admin was importing other user capabilities
3. updated user capabilities

That doesn't look like a permission issue to me. Any clue on what changes were done between the last time it worked and the moment it stopped working for you? What version of Splunk are you on?

Also: what exactly do you mean by "control panel"?
