Clustering Retention Policies

In a multi-site configuration, what happens when the bucket retention policies are different? For example, site 1's policy is 365 days of retained data, and site 2 is 30 days.

The expectation is the data replicated from site 2 to 1 is retained for the full 365 days.

You can't have this situation. Retention polices are defined in the indexes.conf file, and in a clustered environment, that file must be placed on the cluster master and delivered to the search head that way.
