WFS connexion for geo files (shapefile or KML/KMZ files)

Hello,
I'd like to use some other shapefile or KML/Z geo files.
Another team in my organisation is tasked with the job to maintain and publish it on WFS or WMS endpoints.
I couldn't find any documentation to help me to connect to geo files outside of splunk environment.
Updating the lookup file is ok for testing but not in a production environment.

Could you get me some pointers ?
Is a WFS connexion possible ? Is there a doc I missed ?
