Your admins likely have the app your dashboard is in locked down.
If you don't have write access to the app, then you won't be able to edit permissions to share within the context of the app.
Private objects while tied to the app aren't actually in the app, they're in your private directory on the backend.

Hi @Kaushaas,

clicking on the Edit option for your dashboard, you can choose the "Edit Permissions" choice to edit the permissions to access your dashboard and all your Knowledge Objects.

Ciao.

Hi @Kaushaas,

I'm not sure that is required a specific role to see the Permissions for own objects.

which is your role?

have you the same issue also on fields or eventtypes or using a different user or role?

Ciao.

Hi @Kaushaas,

you can see your role in the top of your Splunk GUI, then you can ask to one of your Administrators which are the capabilities of your role.

have you this issue only on these dashboards or also on other dashboards or knowledge objects?

Ciao.

Hi @Kaushaas,

usually all roles can see and edit Permissions on own dashboards, ask to your administrators to enable this feature for your role.

Hi @Kaushaas,

all the hints I can think were checked, open a case to Splunk Support, there isn't any other solution.

Ciao.
