Dashboards & Visualizations

How to change the default bar graph colors in a dashboard panel?

Javip

Hi all,

I'm testing Splunk 7.1.0 and when I try to change default bar graph colors in a dashboard panel it is not working.
I tried something like:

<option name="charting.fieldColors">
   {"error":0xFF0000,"warn":0xFFFF00,"info":0x00FF00}
 </option>

Do you have the same problem?

@Javip, the following run anywhere dashboard example with data similar to your question works just fine for me in Splunk 7.1.
So makes me think whether the field color change was working with your current query in previous version of Splunk or not.

Do you have three Legends i.e. info, warn and error show up with your current query? Can you share your current query and if possible the results in the Statistics Tab (or Table Visualization instead of Bar)?

Try out the following run anywhere example. See if you need to change your query to invert your x-axis and y-axis (one of the ways would be to use transpose command

        <option name="trellis.size">medium</option>
      </chart>
    </panel>

And finally I can draw a panel like this:

Your option tag looks correct, and I have similar things running in 7.1.0 with success. The field names are cAsE sensitive though. Does your search return error, warn, and info in the correct case?
