Highlight Highest and Lowest Values in Table With Dynamic Columns

I have a dashboard panel with a statistical table on it. The column labels are date/time values based upon the time range that the user selects for the dashboard. Therefore the column labels are dynamic. I need to highlight the the top 2 values in each column. See the example image - the cells outlined would be highlighted red (highest value) and yellow (2nd highest value). I've check the dashboard examples app and the table cell highlighting example is for a specific column and the highlighting is based on a value falling within a specific range (eg. value>2). This doesn't meet my requirements. Any ideas or suggestions to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

maybe use heat map function?

A heatmap won't work because it overlays across the entire table (including the Total column) - so the colour range is based on the values of the entire table as shown. I need per column.

i think there are couple of examples in the dashboards examples app that answers your use case, https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/1603/
take a look at the "Table Cell Highlighting" example under "Table Elements"
hope it helps

Thanks for your reply. I looked at that example, however it is based on the column names remaining static. My use case is where the column names are dynamic because they are based on the time range that the user selects. The other difference is that the example looks for values within certain numeric ranges (>2, >1, >0) whereas I need to find the top 2 values in each column.
