Hi,

When i am trying to view a dashboard containing charts, in Internet Explorer 8.

My IE is throwing error

Message: Object expected
Line: 9882
Char: 1
Code: 0
URI: http://splunk_server:8000/en-GB/static/@110225/js/common.min.js

But same dashboard is visible in Firefox without any errors.

Can anyone help me how to make it work in IE

Thanks

Not sure if you're running IE8 in IE7 compatibility mode or not, but that's the only supported IE8 configuration:

Add the Splunk server to your local intranet or trusted sites.

Is IE setup to block any kind of javascript?

It sounds like it could be that it is blocking some elements. Try to reduce the security level for your splunk site or at least add it to the javascript blocker (Chrome user so don't know the exact steps)
