Can Splunk open local files?

we have a regression testing program that does a screen capture when it finds an error. I built a dashboard with the full path of the image. I've tried to use drilldown and workflow and neither one seems to like using a local path. Is this just not possible?

If you are writing the name of the file into a log which you can pick up, why not run an internal webserver on the folder of your images.
You can then refer to the image as a full URI instead of a filepath and your browser will render the image as part of the dashboard.

If my comment helps, please give it a thumbs up!

The log location is on a SAN. Otherwise id just put a forwarder on it. Sorry i should have said that in the beginning.

Splunk dashboards can only refer to local files on the Splunk server (Splunk search head where you're currently logged into).
