Add Timepicker to dashboard

Norling
Explorer

Hi, i´m building a dashboard in advanced XML. The entire dashboard is running all searches in realtime -60 minutes. Now I want to add the TimeRangePicker module in the upper left corner ( ) how do I do that successfully to all elements in the dashboard?

You would need to go for each of the searches and add the TimeRangePicker module. There is a good example in the new UI dashboarding app.

5.0 : http://splunk-base.splunk.com/apps/64805/splunk-dashboard-examples

4.1+ : http://splunk-base.splunk.com/apps/22334/ui-examples-for-41

I attempted to paste in one of the examples from a dashboard there (advanced_intro4) which shows a TimeRangePicker.

<module name="StaticContentSample" layoutPanel="panel_row2_col2" group="Allow the user to change the time range">
    <param name="text">
      This example uses HiddenSearch and includes a TimeRangePicker module
      to allow the user to change the time range.
    </param>
  </module> <!-- StaticContentSample -->
  <module name="TimeRangePicker" layoutPanel="panel_row2_col2">
    <param name="searchWhenChanged">True</param>
    <param name="selected">All time</param>
    <module name="HiddenSearch" autoRun="True">
      <param name="search">| dbinspect bins=400</param>
      <module name="HiddenChartFormatter">
        <param name="chart">line</param>
        <param name="primaryAxisTitle.text">Time</param>
        <param name="chartTitle">Distribution of index buckets over time</param>
        <module name="JobProgressIndicator"/>
        <module name="JSChart"/>
      </module> <!-- HiddenChartFormatter -->
    </module> <!-- HiddenSearch -->
  </module> <!-- TimeRangePicker -->
