We’re excited to announce that the new Splunk Developer Portal is now live at: dev.splunk.com
This is not just a visual refresh. It is a complete rebuild of the platform, designed to modernize the demveloper experience, remove legacy constraints, and create a strong foundation for future innovation.
The previous portal was built on Gatsby, a framework now in maintenance mode with limited long-term support. Over time, this created challenges in keeping the platform aligned with evolving engineering standards and scalability needs.
Rather than continuing incremental updates, we took the opportunity to re-architect the platform on a modern, well-supported stack to better support long-term growth and innovation.
We also consolidated three separate repositories into a single unified codebase, processed and optimized over 130,000 lines of code, and removed approximately 15,000 lines of redundant or hard-to-maintain logic.
This rebuild significantly strengthens the platform’s overall security posture by modernizing dependencies and aligning with current best practices.
We also made substantial improvements in reliability and quality:
These improvements ensure the platform is stable, resilient, and ready to scale with evolving developer needs.
The new portal introduces a more consistent and modern user experience:
In addition, the new architecture enables better handling of documentation features such as versioning, search, content reuse, and API references. This makes it easier for developers to discover, understand, and build with Splunk capabilities.
This foundation unlocks several exciting opportunities moving forward:
These enhancements will help create a more connected and efficient developer ecosystem.
