Will Appdynamics suite this requirement

Hi,

My requirement is as below. Can you kindly suggest me whether its possible to acheive this through appdynamics.

1. The system has multiple modules each developed on different technolities, deployed in different servers and part of different application and all modules except the one mentioned below have appdynamics agents configured.

2. Only one of the module is deployed on a cloud system (The cloud system currently doesnt have a appdynamics connector) which is shared by others systems aslo. Hence i am not able to install any agents in this cloud based modues

3. I will be able to take metrics out of the log files from this cloud based system. Is it possible to represent this information along the other metrics (as in point no 1) in appdynmaics.

4. one option i tried is to have a machine agent in a machine where i have access and parse the log files and report the metrics through a custom monitor. But the problem i am facing in that is that the metrics occurance time is takes as the time when the machine agent post the data and i am not able to override it with the the time stamp value in my log file. Its also confirmed in one of the posts in the community

Can you kindly go through this requirment and let me know if this is possible or not. If its possible how to acheive it

Regards,

Priya

Hi Priya,

The option you have tried using machine agent is the only provision we believe with no actual agent in place but reporting as custom metrics and we see no other possible option here apart from one you mentioned without have agent on actualy instance in place.

Arun
