The latest blog post from Jim mentions one of the new features in 3.7, and it ends with 'Try AppDynamics with Application Runbook Automation for free today.' suggesting the release is near 🙂
When will we be able to see the full release notes and upgrade our installations? Since we are planning a roll out of additional agents we might want to consider holding off that until we can install the latest version to avoid having to upgrade agents soon again.
Hello Michael,
This is Sid here from the AppDynamics Product Management team. Great to hear that you liked Jim's post and looking forward to learning the new features in the 3.7 release including Application Runbook Automation. The release is still a few weeks out and we are actively working on creating release notes. I can make sure to share them with you as soon as we get them ready.
The best way to learn about 3.7 at this point is the Beta/Early Access Program. I can check if that is still active. Would you be interested in participating if that's available? Specifically, are you looking to test Runbook Automation and/or are you interested in some other feature?
Thanks
Sid
Hi Sid, and thanks for your reply.
No, we are not in a stage to implement RBA right now, but it is an interesting feature that we will definitely look into later. I was more interested if there was any big improvements in the base functionality that would warrant waiting until the 3.7 release before deploying new agents.
Since the release is just some weeks away it seems a bit excessive to start a process of Beta/EAP, so I think we will deploy the current agent for now and upgrade when the general release is available.
Thanks,
Michael
