Proxy Server Agent

Hi

I have a server which is running a Java application which I want to monitor using AppDynamics. The only problem is that this server is very locked down and has no acess to the public internet.

I wanted to use AppDynamics Cloud offering so we dont have to manager another server, but the problem comes down to how the Server Agent is going to communicate back to the controller if the server its monitoring cant poll the data out.

Is there a way to use a proxy or manually store data to upload later or something which will enable me to still use AppDynamics without having to open anything up on the monitored server (which I wont be able to do)

Any help or suggetions are welcome

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

We understood that you cannot install onPremise controller on same controller in which agent can send data to controller on same instance as internet not required and we assume instance on which java application is running does not have internet connection itself, if you have proxy in between we can use the jvm arg -Dcom.singularity.httpclientwrapper.proxyHost if there is a proxy is in between for the instance to connect to saas controller (non onpremise option)

If above said is the case, i see "no" option in current implementation of the product where performance data could be stored temporarily in a file and could later be sent to controller (saas one).

Only option we see in your case onpremise controller and it looks you do want to install another server inside the network, Hope that answers your query.

Regards,

Arun
