Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 en OEL 6.5

Hi,

A prospect has a Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 en OEL 6.5 environment, how well is AD supported on this platform? 

Did not see it in the list of supported environments.

Hi Herald,

From past history of  customer tickets found one similar ticket where Mike from supported team had tried and got it working , find his comments listed below:

"I just finished installing the version 3.8.1 controller to a stock OEL 6.1 install. The only thing I noticed was that OEL ships with a pretty restrictive firewall policy, so you'll have to manually open up the controller's HTTP and HTTPS ports. I used system-config-firewall-tui to do that on my OEL VM."

Check if that information helps. Please be sure that as this is not supported environment we are trying to see whether the following information helps here.

Thanks for the info; the not supported part concerns me, this might a reason for the prospect to not use AD.

However; I know they have installed a controller on windows before so I have asked them if they are going to use that one for this PoC. 

Remains the question about the agents, as these are running in supported Tomcat and JVM on the "Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 and OEL 6.5" environments, there might not be an issue; am I right in this assumption?

Hi Harald,

As long as Tomcat and jvm version is from supported list we are not expected to see any issue for monitoring agents. You are right in that assumption.
