Hi ,

We see such issues earlier on the following scenarios:

1) user is trying to install controller version 3.7.x or higher as root user , please do not install controller as root user we do not recommend it

2) when you do not have enough permissions or disk space left to write to /tmp folder on the machine

If the above said is the the issue, we request you to retry installation as suggested above.

We request you to send the database.log and server.log under <Controller_install_dir>/logs/ if there is any disconnect.

also send the <controller_install_dir>/.install4j/installation.log and response.varfile

Also let us know whether it is fresh installation or you are trying to upgrade , if it is fresh instsallation and have enough permissions and disk space let us know whether there are arleady another mysql process running in the same machine?

we request you to go through the following doc once:

http://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO13S/Install+the+Controller+on+Linux

Let us know if that information helps

Thanks,

Arun
