Is there a functional difference between a 'pre-prod' license and a 'production' license?

We have 2 production licenses right now, and we'd like to spin up an agent on one of our pre-prod hosts, but we run the pre-prod environments for load testing and 'heavy use'.  Is there a functional difference between the pre-prod licenses and the prod licenses?

Hi,

Thanks for writing in, If the two licenses you have are of same of the same license type (permanent license), there should not be any functional difference, please let us know if either of the license type is different.

also check the number of agents license units are same for the two production licenses if you want to monitor the same number of agents in pre-prod hosts using one of the prod licenses. Please let us know if that clarifies your query.

Great, thanks for the information!  One last thing.  If we want to deploy 'pre-prod' versions of Appdynamics, do we request a preprod license directly from you guys?  Or can we 'spin our own'?

If it's the former, we'd like 2 please 🙂  (We have 2 prod licenses).
