Hi all. I have 3 saved time ranges (3.7.5, build WinBuild_3.7.5_1 trunk).
Strangely, the middle range doesn't show any data at all anymore. It did on Friday, 7/19. If I do a Compare Releases between the first and last entries, it all looks OK - there is data there.
However, if I try to add anything from the first Saved Time Range to the Metrics Browser, there is only a "dot" of time. It makes me think the resolution has changed since the saved time range is older.
Thanks!
Tony
Hi Tony,
Thanks for writing to appsphere community forum. We apologize the delay in response. Regarding the query,
Yes we confirm that the resolution for "Saved Time Ranges" change over time and custom time range is just for user reference and 1 min data/metric points is rolled in 10 min (last 6 hours to last 1 day time trends) resolution table/times after 4 hours and the same applies to 10 min resolution data will be rolled in to 1 hour data points after 3 days.
refer docs for retention settings: http://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO13S/Database+Size%2C+Data+Retention%2C+and+Metric+Resolution
Say: current time is 1:10 pm you have custom time trend saved for 12:05 pm to 1:10 pm and you can will see minute by minute data (say: 65 data points in metric browser) when you revisit custom time trend for another 4 hours mean till 4 or 5 pm, and data at 12:05 to 12:15 pm will be rolled from 10 data points to 1 ten minute data point after 4 hours from 12:05 pm for data recorded on this minute, hence we see only data point for your custom time trend as it seems you have visited the custom time after couple of days.
Please let us know if that clarifies your query. Do write back to us for further assistance
Thanks,
Arun
