I've used AppDynamics with Java on a linux box, however, I've never installed this on a windows server. I'm trying to monitor wcf calls that use the net tcp binding.
We are currently running on the 3.6 platform and have been able to monitor a number of WCF calls just fine, however, I did notice that it required a server reboot following the agent install before we got it working so you might keep that in mind.
an 'iisreset /restart' is required after agent installs to allow updated web.configs to be read and .Net CLR to be monitored by agent cordinators. a complete server reboot usually not needed.
from my experience..

Kenny,
You are correct for perhaps 85-95% of the installations, however, we have confirmed the server restart is needed when IIS is also configured to support WCF. Additionally, we have had another instance where a third-party CMS application which has a custom ISAPI filter immediately failed after the installation of the AppDynamics agent but fortunately everything began working fine following the physical restart so we simply made it a standard practice as it only takes a minute or two of additional time.
FYI - this behavior appears consistent in both the LITE and PRO versions on 3.6.2 when installing to IIS 7.5 / Windows 2008 r2 but I have not yet re-tested 3.7.1 releases.
Cheers,
Clem
