Is there a known problem with using AppDynamics (3.7) and the Confluence application (running on tomcat). Here is a brief description of the problem from one of our developers
“…when you load a page confluence will complain about velocity templates not being found”
It installs ok and the tomcat instance starts fine....
Thanks!
Is there an official solution for this?
I had ro remove AppDynamics from our Confluence install today when we upgraded to Java 1.7.0_67, Tomcat 7.0.55 and Confluence 5.5.6 because literally nothing worked right when AppDynamics was enabled.
Here were the AppDynamics JVM options we were using previously:
-Dappdynamics.agent.nodeName=<hostname>
-Dappdynamics.agent.tierName=Confluence
-javaagent:/opt/local/appdynamics/javaagent/javaagent.jar
-Datlassian.org.osgi.framework.bootdelegation=META-INF.services,com.yourkit,com.singularity.*,com.jprofiler,com.jprofiler.*,org.apache.xerces,org.apache.xerces.*,org.apache.xalan,org.apache.xalan.*,sun.*,com.sun.jndi.,com.icl.saxon,com.icl.saxon.*,javax.servlet,javax.servlet.*,com.sun.xml.bind.*
Hi,
We have few customer using javaagent on confluence without issues and we do not see Brett provided the requested logs to see the error he is facing. Coming to your case we see the java opts entries looks fine, Can you send the zipped version of logs under location /opt/local/appdynamics/javaagent/logs path and also the jvm console output when you started with -javaagent arg , we understood that you are not seeing load but agent node registered fine, let us know if any disconnect here?
Keep us posted the requested information to assist you faster.
Regards,
Arun
Hi,
We do not have any known issues, Can you please provide the error details at server side when you use application with agent configured and also provide the following for better clarity of the issue:
- startup script used to configure agent
- agent logs and server logs in addition to error stack trace details
- server details and version
Thanks,
Arun
Hi Arun,
I have some more information (log files etc) I'd like to send through. Can you please let me know the best place to put this data?
Thanks
-Brett
Hi Brett,
You can attach files while you respond using the attachements sections as referred in screenshot below, if you have any concerns posting here the logs, you can send the logs to akumar@appdynamics.com :
Thanks,
Arun
