where is state.xml on version 3 of db connect

I have been using splunk db connect version 1 and I am now looking to build new servers with db connect version 3.11
the current setup I have utilises the state.xml file held in
/opt/splunk/var/lib/splunk/persistentstorage/dbx/xyzabc123defghi/state.xml
where xyzabc123defghi = hashed 32-digit directory name relating to the database monitored

After building db connect v3.11 on a new server and connecting to a database, I am unable to find the equivalent of the state.xml file that I need

can anyone advise if state.xml for the database connection still exists in version 3.11 or what it's equivalent is please?

Thank you

DBX 3 does not use state.xml files. Checkpoint information is stored in $SPLUNK_HOME/var/lib/splunk/modinputs/server/splunk_app_db_connect.

Does this new Checkpoint File get rotated or does it just keep growing to infinity?
