license useage at the top of all my dashboards/views

I would like to have just the value from the search below displayed from all my views.

It would be extremly useful if it could be included somewhere like where the logged in as ......, but could labeled as Splunk usage "some number"

Another option would be like on the splunk search landing page - where the "all indexed data" is.

My search below gives me my total splunk license for the day.

index=_internal source=*license_usage.log earliest=@d| eval GB=b/1024/1024/1024 | stats sum(GB) by pool | eval used='sum(GB)' | eval GB Used Today=round(used, 0) | fields "GB Used Today"

Similarly to Lionel's answer , I use the Deployment Monitor App in the same manner.

Alternatively , if you really need the license usage in each view, you could use the Advanced XML "SingleValue" module.

Or, if you really want to earn your Ninja stripes, write your own custom Advanced XML "module" that displays current license usage !! (and share it on Splunkbase)

Hello,

To address this problem, I used a different approach and I am sharing it with you as FYI.

First of all, I downloaded the following App http://splunk-base.splunk.com/apps/22296/real-time-license-usage
called Real Time License Usage and added it as my default dashboard.
So, when I logg in, I see the dial and the information about my license usage.

I know it is not a direct answer to your question and it is just a workaround.

Thank you

Lionel
