how to set hostname for splunk connect for kafka

Hi forum,

I'm currently testing Splunk Connect for Kafka.. i'm getting data in, but wondering how i can set a senseful "host". currently it's set to the hec (e.g.: localhost:8088) hostname.

i was able to set index, source and sourcetype at connector configuration using
"splunk.indexes": "",
"splunk.sources": "",
"splunk.sourcetypes": ""

but how about the "host"? I guess i do not want to create a HEC endpoint for every consumer and set it at HEC level..
