help with mobile app configuration

Hello,

I need a short guidance on how to display my dashboards on the smartphone.
The case is, that I have my Splunk instance inside of the corporate network and there is no way to open it to the outside world (internet).
However, it is possible to establish the VPN connection from the mobile phone to the corp network.
Then I would hope, when opening the Splunk mobile app (after the proper configuration of course) that it should be no problem that it displays my dashboards / alerts.

Is my assumption correct?
Could anyone confirm it?

If yes, what components do I need to install on the search head in order to achieve my goal?
Splunk Cloud Gateway? .... even if I do not really want to go outside of my corporate network?
In the description of the Cloud Gateway App is written, that it is cloud based. What would it mean actually? I mean I have to avoid disposing my data outside the corp net at any cost, it is just not possible.

Could anyone give me a hint what I actually need to view my dashboards on my mobile inside the corp net?

The Splunk cloud gateway uses https to tunnel out to the cx gateway hosted in AWS.

If your Splunk SH can access the internet that is all you need to enable Splunk mobile. You do not need to open any ports or traffic into your SH.

Yes, but this is the issue ...
The data I have is quite sensitive and I do not think there is a chance I can connect my SH to the internet.

Do you see any chance that I can make use of the mobile app to present my dashboards anyway?
I mean if the cloud gateway is a prerequisite for the apps and it communicates with the cx gateway on AWS then it does not sound good for my case ...
Or is there any way to workaround it and still be able to use the app functionality from within corporate network?

Today this is not possible.
Splunk mobile relies on cx gateway, and will not work without it.

At .conf there was some informal chat about customer hosted gateways, but no commitments or timeframes.

You can of course use a vpn client on mobile devices, but you are constrained to the normal desktop ui on a small screen.
