could not log into server (imap)

I am trying to use IMAP Mailbox to index my e-mails in splunk.
server, user and password are correct but I get the following message, when I try "index=* imap log_level=ERROR" in Search & Reporting:
"02-14-2017 11:14:16.625 +0100 ERROR ExecProcessor - message from "python /DATA/splunk/etc/apps/IMAPmailbox/bin/get_imap_email.py" __main
_.LoginError: Could not log into server: imap.example.de with password provided"

do anyone of you have any advice?

resolved it myself. used the ssl port instead of the tls port.
