Windows AD Objects - Admon Forwarder reports error 5

We're using the Windows AD Objects app and configured a forwarder on an AD server with the admon configuration.

Everything appears to be ok (connectivity is ok, configuration is deployed successfully, and data is received), except for the following error that is repeated continually.

08-20-2019 11:05:38.587 +1000 ERROR ExecProcessor - message from ""C:\Program Files\SplunkUniversalForwarder\bin\splunk-admon.exe"" splunk-admon - AdQuery::Checkpoint: CheckpointLastUsn returned error 5

Any ideas why, and how to rectify?
