Hi there,
I have set up a forwarder in my squid server and logs are being received, but it is apparently compressed:

You've configured your input incorrectly. You're trying to receive traffic sent from the forwarder in Splunk's own binary format on a raw TCP input port. You should be using a receiving port instead, also known as a "splunktcp" port. You can set it up in the "Forwarding and receiving" section of the manager interface.
