What is the difference between these Add-ons?

What is the difference between these Add-ons? Is there any reason you would install both?

Also, should syslog be turned off on the esxi and vCenter entities to keep from duplicating data?

@kenoski The only difference is that the index vmware-perf-metrics is set up as metrics index when you install the required Add-on Splunk Add-on for VMware Metrics Indexes | Splunkbase and all performance data are stored as metrics which brings you some savings in storage and better search performance Metrics indexing performance - Splunk Documentation
