Hi Team,

We are currently using Splunk Machine Learning toolkit . We wanted to go for Splunk ITSI. Is it really worth it? Just wanted to know the pros and cons of using ITSI over ML toolkit app.

The answer is, it depends..

I use both the MLTK and ITSI and they work great! I've also gotten to the point where I integrated the MLTK into predicting future ITSI values. ITSI is great for monitoring use cases and can give you visibility into your pipeline and proactively identify issues before they cause outages.

What can be done in ITSI , that cannot be done using ML Toolkit. To get approval, I need to be ready with all the answers...Think you understand 🙂

They are completely different applications and serve different use cases..

In my experience, ITSI is a great way of monitoring your services. You can build out a pipeline of all your services and assign them a health score which can utilize machine learning to determine what is normal and abnormal. Those health scores will change values and colors depending on the health of that service. MLTK is a free app which can help predict future values or detect anomalies. ITSI is much simpler than the MLTK and can provide value quickly.
