Unable to initialize modular input Webtools Add-on

Hello, when I try to install from file the Webtools Add-on, I receive the following message: 

"Unable to initialize modular input "test_port_input" defined in the app "TA-webtools": Introspecting scheme=test_port_input: script running failed (exited with code 1).."

Is anyone familiar with this error message?

The latest version has been rebuilt with python 3 if you'd like to try it.

Which version of Splunk?

not compatible with 8.x unless you enable python 2.7 support.
