I have not updated the app to work with Splunk 8.0.0 yet. I have a ticket open to do the work: https://lukemurphey.net/versions/338

I have the changes in progress and will release it soon.

Update:

Version 1.0.3 has been released. I confirmed it works it now works on Splunk 8.0.0. See https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2630/

I manually defined the key file in the inputs.conf, and now I get the following:
