Will the TA EdgeRouter X add-on work for an EdgeRouter Lite? What is required to set it up?

Mostly. You may have to adjust the props-extract for your own firewall rule naming scheme.

Example, mine is:

Whereas, the in the box is:
^[^\[\n]*\[(?P\w+)_TO_(?P\w+)\-(?P\w+)\-(?P\w+)
