We have Splunk DB Connect Add On connected into a SQL Server, after all connections are successful.
We monitor the database activity and we saw queries in sleeping mode, DBAs mentioned that connection should be turned off after transacting a query. Is this possible?
Hi
DBX is using connection pools for actual DB connections to DB. There are some parameters in config files which you can try to change to disable this or decrease timeouts before connection is closed. Those are added here for performance point of view and in normal situation you should leave those there.
Are there any real issue with those "sleeping" connections or are this something nice to have clear view without those? If there is issue with those, then 1st try to find reason why and if needed decrease amount of those first than just disable that feature in DBX.
You could look files db_connection*.conf files for these.
