I am going through the documentation to configure my DCN for VMware for the first time. Can get most of the way through it until adding or listing forward servers. When I
splunk list forward-server

It prompts for a password (I'm already logged in as splunkadmin), so I try splunkadmin/

Login failed

Next I try admin/, then root/

Same results.

Default credentials for the forwarder is admin/changeme. Which you should change during configuration.
