Splunk DB Connect 2: How to fetch and read XML data from BLOB and datetime from timestamp fields in DB2 on Z/OS?

I am connecting to DB2 database on Z/OS using Splunk DB Connect 2. However, DB Connect is not fetching timestamp and xml fields properly. It is showing values as "## NOT SUPPORTED TYPE ##". How do I get the timestamp and xml fields properly?

to some degree this is JDBC driver dependent... Splunk does text, not binary, so we need to get a text representation. That should be fine for XML and datetime, but if the driver is passing us binary representation, we can't eat it. To fix this, you can modify your SQL query to CAST or CONVERT the columns to VARCHAR or INT.
