How to set up a Splunk DB Connect 2 input for an empty database table?

I'm setting up Splunk DB Connect 2 for an MS SQL Server Database. I'm creating inputs for each table, but when I try to preview a table that exists, but has no rows yet, I can't go past the preview stage. Is there any way around this, or do I have to wait for data to be inserted before setting up the input?

The table has no rows because it's a fresh app install and I wanted to set up DB Connect 2 before releasing the app to production.

I don't think it'll do that -- you could write the inputs.conf directly, though.
